What is the concept room?An additional learning resource where students can meet and discuss questions about first (BIOL 1010/11/21/22) and 2nd year core biology (BIOL 2003, BIOL 2004, BIOL 2020, BIOL 2030, BIOL 2040 and BIOL 2060) course lectures or lab content.
Note: It is not for students to bring an incomplete lab assignment and complete it alongside volunteers OR doing quizzes or exams with them. The Concept Room is also designed to reduce existing TA and professor workloads while also providing students with consistent access to navigating lower-year biology courses. |
Where is the concept room?
The concept room can currently be accessed online through Microsoft teams. The link to the teams meeting can be found on our Facebook page here
When does the concept room run?
The concept room runs Monday-Friday in designated hour time slots based on the course demand from students. At the beginning of each week, the daily schedule for the concept room will be posted to the DABS facebook page @dalbiology. As well, you can also view the schedule in the calendar below:
Who Runs the Concept Room?The Concept Room is managed by student volunteers who have already taken their respective courses. The schedule is made based on volunteer availability and course demand. DABS always ensures that students will be given the most up to date schedule prior to that particular week. |
Who can VolunteerIn order to volunteer with the concept room, you must have already taken the course you are interested in volunteering for and be comfortable in explaining concept pertaining to the course material. |
